The developments and tests performed by AGT autoidrogeno in the field of hydrogen motion is managed over three programs:
- Adaptation of vehicles supplied with methane and modification of the car to be suitable for delivery of HYDROGEN 100% .
The vehicle can still run with benzin.
- Adaptation of vehicles supplied with HYDROMETHANE that is a mix of hydrogen and methane in replacement of 100% CNG
supply in order further lower the rate of CO2 and NOx pollution.
The vehicle can still run with benzin
- Adaptation of vehicles running with benzin to work also with HYDROGEN .
CONVERSION FROM METHANE (CNG) to HYDROGEN 100% (plus benzin) (point 1)
It represents from a technical point of view , the most complex choice, nevertheless transformation costs are not high, it requires a modification to the components, originally omologated for methane, that have to be adapted or replaced with components omologated for hydrogen (tanks, connectors, valves, piping).
Moreover it is required the modification or the replacement of the electronic board, the modification of injection jets and a light modification to ignition system. This is depending from caloric power of HYDROGEN, that is 3 times lower compared with methane (CNG).
This conversion allows to obtain a vehicle (for instance Fiat Multipla 1600 cc 100 HP) that can be supplied with 100% HYDROGEN (besides benzin) which preserves Bi-Fuel original system, but with the following features:
HYDROMETHANE (CNG+H2) VEHICLES working also with benzin and methane (CNG)
It represents the easier choice, immediate and at low cost to start to use hydrogen for vehicle’s mobility
It consents to use a gas mix 30% HYDROGEN and 70% CNG in vehicles that are actually using METHANE (CNG) as propeller gas
An electronic adjustment on the
vehicle is needed, then a minimal economical effort occurs. The global
electronic and mechanical system on board accepts the gas – mix and it
doesn’t realize the difference, therefore no loss of performance of the
motor is taking place.
(When hydrogen is made from
electrolysis, it is not necessary to replace the standard cylinders used
with CNG, but do just the routine change after 8 years)
It is possible to decrease the
already low CNG emissions of a further 15-20% while developping the
distribution of new plants in the hydrogen service stations and
multifunctional stations where CNG pump is already exixting to be
equipped with H2 delivery , all this without technical and economical
risks
The vehicle has the following features :
HYDROMETHANE VEHICLE: 30% HYDROGEN + 70% CNG
FIAT MULTIPLA 1600 cc
□ POWER | 70 HP |
□ MAX SPEED | 150 Km/h |
□ RANGE | 300-320 Km |
□ CYLINDER TANK CAPACITY | 30 Nm3 |
BENZIN VEHICLES running with HYDROGEN
The modification is identical to
the one necessary to supply CNG in a vehicle running with benzin :
installation of cylinders, modification or replacement of the electronic
board, installation of gas injectors, etc.
The vehicle can be supplied with benzin and hydrogen
